Places People Play is a £135m initiative that will bring the inspiration and magic of a home Olympic Games and Paralympic Games into the heart of local communities from this I can clearly see that the government is try to get the people of England to play the Olympic sports instead of watch it on the TV. The Government also want England to be a healthier country and also want to provide the facilities to play sports.
For iconic faclilties Sport England’s thinks investment will be in large capital grants - on average, awards between £500,000 - £1,500,000 will be made.There are different funding for different area such as iconic facilities have £30 million of capital National Lottery funding, plus partnership funding, over three £10 million funding rounds 2011 to 2014.
For protecting playing fields Sport England thinks right across the country with this investment, we are proposing to make grants of between £20,000 - £50,000 Will be make. Protecting playing fields have £10m National Lottery plus partnership funding over five £2 million funding rounds, with two in 2011/12, two in 2012/13 and one in 2013/14.
Places, people, play work alongside the lottery and the British Olympic Association, the British Paralympic Association and with the support of the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games.
